Each year, I love sharing my favorite paintings with you. Somehow, the time to reflect on 2024 has arrived more quickly than ever. The year seemed to gallop by, reminding me to savor each day to the fullest.
While I always aim to make my work deeply personal, this year’s collection feels especially so. Each piece was born from a pure impulse to create—art for the sake of art, an expression of my truest self.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to indulge in this creative journey. Your interest and support mean the world to me and are what truly complete the artistic process. Thank you for allowing me to share these pieces with you and for being such an essential part of this adventure.
The Whole Truth | 12 x 24 | Oil on Canvas |
|
| Painting this barn owl was an exercise in bold, precise brushwork. I used a limited palette to focus on edges and values, aiming to create textures that your eye can explore. The title is a favorite of mine, inspired by Greek mythology, where Athena’s owl revealed to her the world’s hidden truths. |

In All the World | 11.5 x 23 | Conte |
|
| This drawing, created with conte crayon—a clay-based medium—features the warm tones I love. I’m sharing it because of the fox’s eyes. Whenever I draw a sentient being, I always start with the eyes; if they’re not right, the rest of the image doesn’t matter. This fox once came to my back porch and locked eyes with me, and I was determined to capture that moment. Every other detail in the drawing is designed to support this focal point. |

The Trees Whisper Knowingly | 11.5 x 23 | Oil on panel | view |
|
| I painted this purely for myself, as a way to reconnect with the joy of painting. I never intended to share it with anyone… and yet, here it is! This playful exploration of paint began with a simple line drawing in my sketchbook from years ago, brought to life with spontaneity and color. |

Everything on Earth | 60 x 36 | Oil on linen |
| This is another tree painting created out of pure selfishness. I’ve always had a deep love for aspen trees, stemming from my childhood memories of galloping through them on my beloved Arabian horse, “Gaiter.” The slender, vertical white bark reflects surrounding colors with subtle elegance. This large-scale piece captures late fall, when the aspens have shed their golden leaves and stand among a backdrop of fireweed’s vibrant red. The title reflects the interconnected nature of aspen roots, serving as a metaphor for the connection that links all things. |

A Shared Path | 24 x 24 | Oil on linen
I’ll be honest—there were countless times when I nearly gave up on this painting. It was a true test of persistence. I struggled so many times, wanting to start over, feeling at my wit’s end to make it work. I’m incredibly glad I pushed through, as some of my favorite passages emerged unexpectedly. In the end, this became my submission for the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s Western Visions exhibition.

A Winter’s Walk | 18 x 18 | Oil on canvas |
| In our part of the world, winter has a way of softening all things including the light. I feel that this painting achieved my goal of simple softness. I’d love to hear what you think! |

One Sun Behind Every Cloud | 30 x 40 | Oil on linen |
| Perhaps it’s clear that this painting speaks of adversity—an inescapable part of life. And yet, within every challenge, there is hope. That is what I hope this painting conveys: the resilience and hope that emerge even in difficult times. It is dedicated to those of you who lovingly supported my family through a storm this year. |

I am With You | 16 x 20 | Oil on linen |
| I painted these two mourning doves perched together among Spanish moss for my exhibition in Georgia. I’m drawn to the tonal palette and composition, which aim to evoke a sense of peacefulness. More than anything, I hoped to capture the quiet beauty of deep presence—the greatest gift we can offer one another. |
As we step into the new year, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support of my artwork. Your presence, encouragement, and connection mean the world to me. May this year be filled with peace, resilience, and the beauty of shared moments. Thank you for being part of my creative journey—wishing you a year of hope, inspiration, and deep connection.
